Home is relative to where it is

My home is no more, it is a thing of the past
A necklace made of silver found in a burned house

In my home, I can do what I want

My home is nice

My home is a car

Mitt hem är min borg
Brosch silver

My Home is a point of safeness

My home? That´s me

Home is where we belong

My home is a safe place

My home is where I have my things

Home is where the mother and father live

Is couple households one home or two?

A home is where the door is always open

In my home there is room for more

My home is my cell

My home is the forest

Home is the anonymous city Stockholm

Home to the village

Home is where you collect things

Home is the basis

Home is where you bring all kind of stuff

Home is where we fixes and rearranging

My home is located by the sea

My home is the yellow house down there

Home is where you invite your friends

Home can be a hotel

My home is a house

Home is security

My home is my apartment and where I will live
until I can not go up the stairs for more

Home is where I live

My home is magnificent

Home is where I grew up

Home is a quiet place

Home is where we keep on renovate our houses

My roots is my home

Home is where you know you fit in

Home is where you keep your belongings

Home is where we feel comfortable with the colours

Home? What?

A home is where you live and grow old

Home may be old people's homes

My home is under a tree

At home with another

Home is where we are born and where you return
of dying

Home is a nestle

Home is filled with anguish

Home is several things

Home is where we get together

I have two homes

Bye bye everybody! I'm going home, whatever
that means.

Home sweet home

My home is where I stand
Necklace made of shoes

Home will be after the trip

My home is in Bohuslän

Home is where the soul lives

Where I live, all the houses are similar. The small houses in wood are called "shoe cartons" and are on the line along the streets of the suburb. All who live there have a house, a garden, a car, a grill and at least one inherited piece of jewellery.

A year ago me and my family moved to one of these single-family houses in Tallkrogen just south of Stockholm. I thought "Now I am one among other ordinary people in the normal middle-centre". But it was not the case.
I walked around in my new neighbourhood and found that all the houses that at first sight looked so similar, differed significantly from each other and so did its inhabitants.
When I moved, I found the novel "Five hearts in a matchbox" by PC Jersild, which is about the author's upbringing in a similar suburb. I also found my old collection of matchboxes and by chance they were in a shoe carton.
Books, shoe cartons and matchboxes, all with strict rectangular shape but despite to the shape, there is full of variations when it comes to contents, styles, feelings and memories.
A piece of jewellery is not just a piece of jewellery. They tell us who a person are or wants to be and can not be replaced with a new in the case of loss, since they bear on stories. We can tell the same about our homes.
Full of thoughts, I began to ask people around what "Home" means for them. I didn't get one answer like another and from the answers these objects grew up, which also received titles thereafter.
68 objects are made and several are created from materials which are normally found in homes. It is part of bathroom mats, dish, pillows, and objects that is normal for collecting. All the items have one thing in common; they have the same base form, just as a matchbox.

Hem
2008
