SOFIA BJÖRKMAN
The landscape I live in is a joyful world filled with human scaled artworks. The studio and gallery is placed in Stockholm Sweden, and my work is travelling around. Mobility and flexibility make jewellery unique as an artform and broaden the meaning of the pieces.
Since I graduated from Konstfack in Stockholm, I have dedicated my work to jewellery, wearable and non-wearable art objects. 1999 I started PLATINA, a gallery and studio for art jewellery. Since then, I have worked as an artist, gallery owner and curator.
The audience, the colleagues, the friends and the environments we are in inspire. In the artistic landscape I meet a lot of people that influence me and play a big role in the artistic practice, it is a way for me to understand works and to express the experience being both an artist and a curator.
